GBE Charitable Foundation Scholarship

About Us

The GBE Charitable Foundation formally announces our Scholarship Program which provides for financial and educational support for the advancement of poor, distressed or otherwise underprivileged students pursuing graduate degrees in Engineering.


The Guzman-Barron Escobedo Charitable Foundation (the “GBE Charitable Foundation”), a Washington nonprofit corporation recognized as a public charity, announces the establishment of a scholarship program intended to further its charitable and educational mission by expanding access to advanced engineering education for eligible persons who face financial, economic or social barriers.


Our mission is to remove financial and structural barriers so that future leaders in engineering can pursue master’s degrees at top US universities. This scholarship represents our commitment to equity, opportunity, and the belief that empowering one woman in STEM creates a ripple effect that strengthens families, communities, and the nation.

Eligibility

This scholarship program is specifically designed to support qualified individuals pursuing master’s‑level studies in engineering at accredited US institutions. Special focus would be for women of Peruvian or Latin American heritage. The purpose of such awards are made solely to advance education and are not intended to provide private benefit beyond its’ charitable purpose of relieving educational disadvantage and promoting scientific and technological development.

    

Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence, resilience, and a clear commitment to advancing in the field of engineering. Eligible applicants must come from economically disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds, hold or be close to completing an undergraduate degree in engineering, and intend to pursue a master’s program in engineering at a recognized US institution.

  

Scholarship recipients will be selected through an objective and nondiscriminatory process based on criteria that may include but not limited to: (i) academic achievement; (ii) leadership potential; (iii) perseverance; and (iv) a demonstrated commitment to applying acquired knowledge and skills in ways that have or will contribute to public good.

How to Apply

 The Application Process will be administered in a fair and consistent manner and consists of the following stages:


  1. Submission of an online application form;
  2. Review of documentation and a written statement from pre‑selected applicants; and
  3. In-Person or Virtual Interviews conducted by representatives of the Foundation.


The full process is designed to be supportive, transparent, and centered on understanding each candidate’s potential and aspirations.


The Foundation does not guarantee funding to any applicant, and scholarship awards are subject to the availability of charitable funds and continued compliance with program requirements.

After reviewing all initial applications, a group of pre‑selected candidates will be invited to continue. This stage allows us to verify academic information and gain a deeper understanding of your motivations and long‑term goals.
